AGMC's Business Climate Index is Positive After a Long Time in EU!

With reference to the September results of the sectoral monthly Business Barometer survey conducted by CEMA - European Agricultural Machinery Association, the business environment index which has been improving for a while, has reached a positive level with +8 points for the first time in a year period.

Most up-to-date researches indicate that the business environment was in the negative zone in recent months, however, there has been a noticeable improvement in all segments regarding the last survey. Although expectations are more optimistic among the participators, there are negative exceptions in the lawn, garden, and municipal segment. On the other hand, in the sector, which has improved in the last three months, especially livestock equipment has turned negative as of October.

In broad strokes, turnovers and the incoming orders from the EU market and outside have increased significantly in recent weeks. On the other hand, it is stated that most of the European industrialists anticipate more improvement in orders, unlike their turnover expectations. In addition, it should also be noted that the business climate has not improved across all production locations in Europe. Comparing the main production regions in Europe, the majority of respondents point out that Germany has the most striking improvement.

The expectations of European industrialists in many countries continue to improve despite the negative outlook in Southeast Europe, the UK, and the Netherlands market. As a side note, dealer stocks are estimated to be below average for both new and used equipment in almost all European markets except the UK.
