CEMA Releases November Results of the Barometer: Business Climate Takes Firm Steps Forward!

According to the survey results, it is noteworthy that the index, which reached a positive level with +8 points last month for the first time in the last year, rose to +14 points in November. Responses to the poll indicate that the increase in the total index is primarily the result of an improvement in the evaluation of the current business. Meanwhile, only 15% of the survey participants consider their current business to be unfavorable.

The survey results highlight that the negative impact of the restrictions has decreased on the market. In addition,  turnover expectations for the coming months have reached a safe level across the industry and the average lead time has risen to 3.1 months which is the highest value recorded in November ever since the first survey. In contrast, most of the participants no longer expect any further increase in incoming orders.

Although the expectations in the European agricultural machinery industry have greatly improved, on mature reflection in segment basis, there are negative exceptions in the grass, garden, and municipal equipment and livestock segments. It is crucial to state that the decline in the lawn, garden, and municipal equipment, which has not been able to come out of the negative zone since the beginning of this year, and livestock equipment, which has slipped back to the negative zone for the last two months, continue to fall in November.

On the other hand, most of the European industrialists do not expect any further increase in turnover across the EU market. While strong and stable levels of confidence are seen for major markets such as France, Germany, and Italy, prospects are again pessimistic for the UK as well as for many Eastern European markets.
