Last April, CEMA announced the tractor registration data for the second half of 2023. As per the data compiled by national authorities, 211,700 tractors have been registered across Europe. CEMA’s records indicate that among the total of 158,100 agricultural tractors registered to traffic last year, 26,200 (17%) were 37kW (50 hp) and below, and 131,900 (83%) were 38kW and above. It is estimated that the remaining categories of tractor groups in the report are ATVs, telescopic loaders, and other equipment, which are classified as tractors in the statistical data of the countries. Within the scope of the document prepared by CEMA, a general evaluation of the tractor statistics of the countries and the indicators in the registration figures is also presented.
Consolidated statistics in the agricultural tractors group point out that last year’s traffic records were 4.9% lower than the previous year, and show that tractor sales in 2023 closed slightly below the average of the last five years. According to CEMA data, although there was a low difference in the number of tractors registered in the first half of the year compared to the same period of the previous year, it is stated that there was a sharp decrease in the second half of the year. Between July and December 2023, there was an approximately 10% decrease in the number of registrations compared to the same period of the previous year. Accordingly, the slowdown in the market caused registrations to be 7% below the season average in the second half of the year.
