The Press Release evaluates 2022 in the European tractor registration records prepared by CEMA European Agricultural Machinery Association, of which we are a member, presenting at the link.
According to the bulletin, approximately 215,000 tractors were registered in Europe in 2022. 59,300 of these registrations were in the power class of 37kW (50 hp) and below, and 155,700 are in the power class of 38kW and above. CEMA considers only 165,200 of these vehicles as agricultural tractors. The rest consists of various vehicles, every so often classified as tractors, including ATVs, telehandlers and other equipment types. An overview of the total tractor registrations in each country, including an indication of the registration rates that can be classified as farm tractors in the appendix to the bulletin.
Agricultural tractor registrations decreased by 8.7% compared to 2021, the best year for European tractor registrations in the last decade. After 2021, the annual total for 2022 was the highest since 2017, when registrations peaked before legislative changes in early 2018. While the number of tractors registered on a monthly basis is lower than a year ago, it is close to or above the average of the previous three years.
