Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, or Fraunhofer Institute, is Europe’s largest applied research organisation. The Institute has established a worldwide model in applied R&D studies and offers various opportunities for our manufacturers. The institution operates mainly in Germany. Today, 76 institutes are in operation under the umbrella of the Fraunhofer Institutes, which are shown as exemplary models in the world, and have a research budget of € 3 billion in 2023, with 30 thousand employees working in the fields of natural sciences, engineering or socio-economics.
What exactly does Fraunhofer do?
Many innovations have been found because of research and development studies at the Fraunhofer institutes. The institutes work in almost all fields of technology, from microelectronics to materials research. One of Fraunhofer’s best-known developments is MP3 audio data compression. The institute reports approximately 700-800 new inventions per year, which corresponds to approximately three inventions per working day, two-thirds of which are registered by patent.
How can Fraunhofer support agricultural machinery manufacturers?
You can cooperate with specialized institutes in the development of more innovative products in agricultural machinery engineering. You can contact Fraunhofer on issues that you cannot find a solution to, from casting to factory automation, from material technology to additive manufacturing, from artificial intelligence to coating and surface engineering, from laser technology to mechatronic system design, and even to the development of smart agricultural technologies.
How can you contact Fraunhofer?
You can find the relevant institute on the Fraunhofer website and contact it directly by phone or e-mail, or you can also get support from our association to access the contact point. We think that the MAİB Germany Office will also support us.
What subjects does Fraunhofer have institutes on?
You can access the full list from the link. In addition, there is also a special introductory letter for machinists prepared by the MAİB Germany Office, and there are direct links to many institutes of mechanical engineering.
