The overseas market for the Turkish agricultural machinery industry showed an increase of 4,6 percent in value, however, it indicates a significant reduction of 11.8 percent in quantity. Thus, exports of farm equipment and tractors reached the level of $594 million in the January-May period of 2023. The sector ranked 6th among 23 subsectors in the general machinery group. Due to the base effect of the decrease, the export unit value per weight of agricultural machinery increased compared to the previous year and became $5.5 level per kg. The countries ranked in order are the USA, Italy, Russia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, France, Iraq, Bulgaria, Australia and Romania respectively. On the other note, imports in the January-April period of 2023 increased by 84 percent compared to the level of 2022 and reached the level of $454 million. Besides, the sector had a surplus of $60 million in April. In terms of total machinery, total exports in the January-May period of 2023 increased by 11.7 percent compared to the level of 2022 and reached the level of $10.2 billion. The export unit value was $7.3 per kg.
