As is known, T and C categories tractors, R category trailers and S category interchangeable towed equipment (agricultural machinery(, Agricultural and Forestry Vehicles Type Approval and Market Surveillance and Inspection Regulation (EU/167/2013)) in accordance with the provisions of the “EU Type Approval*” However, for category R trailers and category S interchangeable towed implements, category C crawler tractors, and special purpose wheeled tractors of categories T4.1 and T4.2, the manufacturer may choose to comply with the relevant national requirements. The form of the certification will be “National Type Approval”.
The latest certification and market surveillance development concerns mobile (mobile) machinery used off-road in the EU. According to the information we have received, the inclusion of mobile machines used outside the highway in the type approval is on the agenda. Accordingly, within the scope of the new approach, mobile machines used outside the highway, which are within the scope of the machines subject to CE requirements, especially the 2006/42/EC Machinery Safety Regulation, will also be subject to type approval depending on the new requirements. Mobile machinery used off-road is mainly self-propelled agricultural machinery (harvester, self-propelled cotton harvester, etc.), work and construction machinery (grazer, excavators, backhoe loaders, etc.), garden machinery (self-propelled lawn mowers, etc.), stackers (forklifts, etc.) are considered within the scope of municipal service vehicles (road sweepers, etc.).
After the EU legislation is officially published (after a transition period ) it is expected to enter into force in the EU countries. The legislation related to type approval in our sector is adapted from the EU Regulation. After the publication of the EU legislation, local regulations to be prepared by the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey will also enter into force in the medium term. Therefore, it should be taken into account that members who manufacture or intend to manufacture this type of self-propelled agricultural machinery should follow the subject during this transition period (in order to ensure that they form their own homologation units on time).
