The Ministry of Agriculture welcomes applications for projects working towards addressing the national goals to develop technology in agriculture.
It will prioritize applications that can demonstrate that they are responding to longer-term progress for researchers based at universities, higher education institutions or registered NGOs, trade bodies, and commercial organizations with university-equivalent research capacity, to undertake an innovative and original research project. The 19th Project Call period of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry R&D Support Program has been opened. Please click for the details of the announcement.
Project applications under the 18th call will be accepted between 24 January and 29 March 2024.
Within the scope of the R&D Support Program 18th Project Call;
■ Universities,
■ TÜBİTAK R&D Units,
■ Civil society, professional and farmer organizations (Associations, foundations and their economic enterprises, chambers, commodity exchanges, unions and superior unions/economic enterprises, cooperatives),
■ Private sector organizations can apply.
The subject of the project to be applied for within the scope of the call must be within the scope of the 19th Project Call Priority R&D Topics specified in the annex and on the website.

Agricultural Mechanization
■ Development of Harvest Aids Suitable for Organic Agriculture that Can Be Used in Mechanized Harvesting in Organic Cotton Production
■ Use of Renewable Energy Resources and Development of Technologies in Agriculture
■ Development of Reduced Soil Tillage and Direct Seeding Machines
■ Development of Technologies and Systems for Variable Rate Planting, Fertilization, Irrigation and Disinfestation
■ Domestic Milking Robot Design and Production
■ Development of Artificial Intelligence Supported Communication Protocol and Sample Systems for Agricultural Machinery
■ Development of Autonomous Agricultural Machines that Can Be Used in Crop Production Soil, Fertilizer and Water Resources
■ Development of New Irrigation Management and Automation Technologies (Hardware, Software, System) Based on Digital (Sensor, Satellite, UAV) Data
■ Studies on the Development of Irrigation and Drainage System Components
■ Development of Water and Drought Monitoring and Management Systems in Large Areas in Rainfall-Based and Irrigation Conditions
Plant Health
■ Production of Pheromones and Traps for Harmful Organisms That Cause Economic Losses with Domestic Facilities
■ Development of Agroecological and Alternative Approaches for Sustainable Weed Management
Ministry supports upper limits and rates excluding VAT: 3,000,000 TL and 70% for private sector organizations.
Project applications must be made within the scope of the Project Call to have a project partnership.
The rules regarding partnerships in projects with a partnership requirement are as follows:
■ For universities and TÜBİTAK R&D units to apply as executing institutions, at least one private sector organization that has the right to apply for the support program (registered in the trade registry under the Turkish Commercial Code No. 6102 dated 13/1/2011, registered in the Turkish Trade Registry Gazette It is obligatory for them to establish partnerships with existing capital companies. Once this partnership condition is met, other institutions/organizations can also take part in the project as partners.
■ For private sector, non-governmental and professional organizations to apply to the Support Program as the executing institution, they are required to partner with at least one institute (the list of institutes affiliated to TAGEM and Ministry units authorized for research by TAGEM can be found on the Program’s website). Once this partnership condition is met, other institutions/organizations can also take part in the project as partners.
