2. Communiqué on Supporting Investments in Energy-Efficient Agricultural Irrigation Systems

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has revised the grant support for water-efficient agricultural irrigation systems with a new circular, aiming to encourage the efficient use of water in agriculture. The circular will be implemented in all 81 provinces and replaces the individual irrigation circular numbered 2021/7.

Supported investment areas are grouped under three main headings:

  • In-field systems (drip irrigation, Sprinkler irrigation, Micro-sprinkler irrigation, Subsurface drip irrigation)
  • Large mechanical systems (Center pivot/Linear irrigation systems, Drum irrigation systems)
  • Renewable energy and technology-focused systems (Solar-powered irrigation (irrigation systems + panels) and smart irrigation/automation systems (sensors, control, remote management))

Grant rates vary according to the type of investment. A 50% grant is applied to standard drip and sprinkler irrigation systems, 60% to center pivot and solar-powered systems, and 70% to subsurface drip irrigation and smart irrigation/automation systems. In basins declared to have water scarcity, the rate increases to 70% for all applications. The upper limit for the project amount eligible for a grant is 10 million TL, and on-site delivery and installation costs can be considered within the scope of the grant provided they are included in the same invoice.

Applicants: Individuals, commercial companies, irrigation cooperatives, and irrigation associations are eligible to apply. Women and young entrepreneurs (18-41 years old) are given priority; at least 20% of the budget is allocated to this group.

Process: Applications will be made through www.tarimorman.gov.tr; installation must be completed within 75 days after the grant agreement is signed. Payment requests must be submitted to the provincial directorate within 10 days of the purchase date. Investments are subject to monitoring for 5 years from the payment date.

P.S: All details not included in this announcement will be contained in the Implementation Guide, which will be announced soon.
